Bio
I am an experienced professional translator whose career started back in 2012 during my internship at my university's international office. This initial exposure to the world of translation sparked a passion that I subsequently turned into my profession. Since then, I have been working as a dedicated freelance translator for the past eight years.
In 2016, I embarked on a new venture by founding my own translation company, initially functioning as a sole proprietor. This initiative has since evolved into a joint enterprise that I now operate in conjunction with my husband. My professional journey has enabled me to showcase my writing and translation capabilities on various online platforms, including, but not limited to, Upwork, where I have successfully completed over 200 diverse projects, consistently maintaining an immaculate 5.00-star rating.
I am a certified PRO translator on ProZ.com and an active member of TranslatorsCafe. Beyond these online platforms, I serve as a contracted translator for numerous international agencies. I am proficient in using memoQ 9.12 translation software (for which I hold a professional license), and I am equally comfortable working with SDL Trados Studio and SmartCat.
In terms of education, I hold a professional bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Tourism Studies and bear the title of Mediator in Tourism. This program equipped me with strong communication skills, which are particularly suitable for international and intercultural environments. I am fluent in my native language, Slovenian, in two advanced-level foreign languages - English and Croatian, and in two intermediate-level foreign languages - German and Italian.
Throughout my career, I have translated well over 2 million words across various speciality fields. This includes a broad range of documents such as technical manuals, heavy machinery descriptions, IT content, legal documents, marketing materials, and product descriptions in numerous industries. I have also translated content related to tourism, lifestyle, fashion, sports, gaming, and more.
