Context: Como usted sabe, XXX fue demandado por YYY, en ****demanda arbitral por mera certeza***, en un proceso que duró entre junio de 2005 y practicamente inicios de julio de 2007 (cuando se firma la Modificación de Contrato entre YYY y XXX).
This occurs in a letter between two Chilean nationals. I suspect it may mean something like "declaratory judgement" but I've no idea about legal terminology, hence the question.
