Estoy traduciendo las notas de un estudiante de economía que no se ha graduado aún y la parte inicial del documento dice:
"El secretario de la universidad xxx, quien suscribe, certifica: que en el expediente de estudios de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Sociales, Escuela de Economía, marcado con el número xxx correspondiente al ciudadano xxx, se encuentra una ficha docente en la cual consta que cursó en esta institución las asignaturas que a continuación se especifican, con las siguientes calificaciones:..."
Justo después de la lista de materias, dice "esta certificación no constituye un **record académico** del estudiante, sino las materias aprobadas y su fecha respectiva de aprobación."
Supongo que "record académico" es academic record". ¿Cómo se traduciría entonces "ficha docente"? (en mi glosario, la tenía como "academic record". (tengo que seleccionar adecuadamente el término porque en este mismo documento aparece también "expediente de estudios" y quiero mantener claramente diferenciadas las expresiones.

Since the "ficha docente" contains the student's grades, the use of the word "transcript" in this context seems more than appropriate. Indeed, at least in the US, this is the term that would be used in the context of grades.
The usual meaning of the word "docente" notwithstanding, I don't see how a "ficha docente" could possibly refer to a teacher's (or teachers') record(s) in the context of a university, where students have multiple instructors.

My take on this is that the secretary certifies that there is a teachers record (ficha docente) that verifies that x studied the following subjects with the follwoing grades.
Then it goes on to state that the cerfification does not constitute the academic record of the student; only the subjects successfully completed, and the dates upon which they were completed.

: Correcto. Creo que el "teacher's record" contiene los mismos datos que luego son autenticados para constituir el "academic record" autorizado.
