more guessing, given that puesta is the lay, or perhaps even a direct translation (when in doubt!!??) ellipse of the lay -but haven't been able to find any specific information, despite the fact that ellipse does seem to appear on pages with eggs, except for rather dubious ref added below.

actually ellipse is a very specific word and I don't think it can be translated happily by curve
