Spanish term

tirar por la borda

Spanish to English Other Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
This is from a script by an Argentine filmmaker. A child is talking:

"throw me over the edge" does not make any sense to me (sounds more like what a stressed parent says to his or her children "you are going to throw me over the edge") Not sure what makes sense here.
Thanks!

verb \ˈdəmp\
: to put (something) somewhere in a quick and careless way
: to leave or get rid of (something or someone) quickly or without concern
: to end a romantic relationship with (someone)
Peer comment(s):

neutral Carol Gullidge : I could be misaken, but for me, dumping is specifically when you get shot of a (sexual) partner
