Portuguese term
pese não haver participado
Portuguese to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
É do verbo "pesar"?

despite not having participated
Mr. John Doe worked as a salesman, and despite not having participated in the negotiations between x and y, affirms that he did bring the companies close together.

despite not having been party
option
e.g.,
Despite not having been party to the proceedings nor having heard the evidence many individuals are expressing opinions on the decisions announced by the FA Premier League’s Disciplinary Commission yesterday.
http://www.leaguemanagers.com/news/viewfromthetop-4992.html
The obvious alternative would have been to have purchased the assets of the business, and then let the company and director sort themselves out.
Always easy to be wise after the event, and really difficult for anyone to answer this *** without having been party to the negotiations, *** seen valuations or conducted due diligence on the company.
