Spanish term

abrazadera

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering
I'm having trouble with the part between asterisks:

"Suele ser práctico usar malla de cobre ***que puede ser cogida al electrodo por medio de una abrazadera.***"

I've found several meanings for abrazadera (U-bolt, clamp, various types of ring, etc.) but I'm unsure as to which is the correct translation here.

The text is related to applyin the magnetic field in magnetic particle inspections.

Thanks in advance.

clamp

I think they are referring just to any device designed and able to bind or press two or more parts together in this case, so as to hold them firmly in their relative position (MWU). Should they have meant something more specific, they would have written "una abrazadera tipo X" or "un anillo de sujeción en U" or something like that.

Jolly good morning to everyone,

A strap would seem the most logical thing to use.

The most inclusive term, considering as the above poster notes that the text is not specific.

upon reflection, this surely eliminates all doubt about whether it clips, clamps, is screwed, or what. It simply fastens
