GMP Manual (Meat-packing company):
¿A qué TROPAS hace referencia?

ELABORATION AND QUALITY
Once in our plant, the system of traceability begun in the slaughter houses is continued. In this way each herd of cattle is monitored on an individual basis until it reaches the final stage of finished product, where it carries the reference number of the herd from which it was obtained.

10 hrs
batches
In the animal husbandry texts that I work on, the livestock arrive at the slaughterhouse in batches, which are usually separated to avoid the spread of infections.
"Herd" is rebaño/manada, which I see as a bigger grouping than the batches usually transported.

Example sentence:
Sheep are normally kept in batches (batches of up to 50 sheep are feasible) in large pens...
Qatar received the first batch of cows in the middle of this month.

I really appreciate the "agree". Producers/farmers rarely ship a whole "herd" at a time.
