Can anyone help with this please? It is from a brain MRI scan report (Alzheimer's disease).

After looking into this again, it would be more appropriate to stick with "cisterns adjacent to the brainstem" as there are more subarachnoid cisterns than those shown in the image, some of which are located above the brainstem.
This would correspond to the image on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subarachnoid_cisterns
