Spanish term

QSC

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Abbreviation in report on lab work
Mexican hospital report of physical exam.
The labs are as follows:
- CBC - hematocrit, platelets, leucocytes, lymphocites ....
- ****QSC**** creatinine, urea, BUN, GFR
- Liver function tests: Total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, indirect bilirubin, GOT, GPT, .....
- Times: prothrombin time, INR, .....

I can't figure out *QSC." I think that first letter is a Q but it could possibly be an "O."

Discussion

wendy griswold (asker) Nov 18, 2021:
I just wanted to thank everyone again for their help and apologize for confusing things. I promise it will never happen again. Eternally grateful for the support.
Joseph Tein Nov 18, 2021:
I agree with other comments that you should give the original source Spanish text, not the English translation, when you provide the context. We see more clearly what the background is, and helps with the translation of the term being asked.
wendy griswold (asker) Nov 18, 2021:
Sorry! Working too late. Not the first complaint I have had about some questions I posted last night. I gave the English for reference. The text was in Spanish. Thanks for being on the ball.
Cecilia Gowar Nov 18, 2021:
Yes but the text you provided is all in English, is that the original or your translated version?
wendy griswold (asker) Nov 18, 2021:
Spanish to English. Although, as in most medical texts, there are some English initialisms and acronyms thrown in. The text is Spanish, the acronyms are mixed, and thanks for pointing that out.
Cecilia Gowar Nov 18, 2021:
Spanish to English??? Or English to Spanish?

Blood Chemistry
Blood chemistry tests measure certain chemicals in your blood. Results of these tests give your health care provider important information about your general health, how well your organs (such as the liver and kidneys) are working, and whether you may be experiencing side effects from HIV drugs. Abnormal results can point to a problem that needs to be addressed. Important blood chemistry tests include:

(blud KEH-mih-stree …)
A test done on a sample of blood to measure the amount of certain substances in the body. These substances include electrolytes (such as sodium, potassium, and chloride), fats, proteins, glucose (sugar), and enzymes. Blood chemistry tests give important information about how well a person’s kidneys, liver, and other organs are working. An abnormal amount of a substance in the blood can be a sign of disease or side effect of treatment. Blood chemistry tests are used to help diagnose and monitor many conditions before, during, and after treatment. Also called blood chemistry study.
