Discussion

neilmac Nov 29, 2022:
@Jane Fascinating. Tuco is a villain in one of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, and I thought they might be diminutives of something similar.
philgoddard Nov 29, 2022:
Yes There may be some significance to the names, which may need translation.
I think "cargados" means they were the givers rather than the recipients.
philgoddard Nov 29, 2022:
Hi Shivam Please could we have the context. What is this text? What does it say before and after this sentence, and why have you classified it as Clothing/Fashion?
Thanks

Tuquito and Tuquita will come bearing gifts.

Not 100% certain without more context, but Tuquito and Tuquita appear to be character names, so I would leave them as they are.
I find 'bearing gifts' a good idiomatic translation here.

Tuquito and Tuquita are coming loaded with gifts

Tuquito and Tuquita sound like cartoon characters (toucans?) and I would not attempt to invent English names for them.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Andrew Bramhall : The problem here is subtle ambiguity; if they'd been given loads of food and drink to consume, they would ineed be laden with freebies!

Tuquito and Tuquita (will) arrive laden with gifts

The problem is does an 'accurate' translation exist for Tuquito and Tuquita?
To me 'loaded' applies to guns and lorries...

LADEN | English meaning - Cambridge Dictionary
carrying or holding a lot of something: He always comes back from France laden with presents for everyone.
Peer comment(s):

agree Simone Taylor : Considering the little information given I would say this is the best translation.

Thanks Simone!
agree Andrew Bramhall : Me too;' laden' best option IMHO, 'bearing gifts' a bit evocative of religion (The Three Wise Men)
