en trámite

Spanish to English Other Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Buenos días, tengo que traducir una lista de productos que elabora un laboratorio (en Argentina) para Estados Unidos. El título de una de las listas es: LISTADO DE PRODUCTOS FARMACEUTICOS EN TRÁMITE
¿Podría ser?: LIST OF PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS IN PROCESS/ LIST OF PENDING PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS
Gracias

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): William Bowley

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

The "trámite" is a request for approval. "In process" sounds as if it refers to the manufacturing process.
Peer comment(s):

agree Toni Castano : Referred specifically to pharma products, this is what makes more sense to me.

Thank you, Toni!
agree Beth Farkas : It'll depend somewhat on the titles of the other lists, but this makes the most sense to me in this context.

Thank you, Beth!
neutral neilmac : How do we know the "process" involves "approval"? I don't see it stated..

agree abe(L)solano : Sin duda alguna, "en trámite" aquí es "pending marketing authorization" (pending approval)

in process

Although many of the examples found in an online search use a hyphen (in-process), IMHO that form is only correct/necessary when it precedes the noun (e.g. in-process monitoring").
So, your own suggestion "LIST OF PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS IN PROCESS" is what I would use. Without a hyphen.

pharmaceutical products (in-process as well as before and after packaging)

No hyphen;
pharmaceutical products (in process as well as before and after packaging)

RE: Since I don't see any mention of "approval" in the source text, I don't feel I can wholeheartedly agree with the suggestion that it means the same as "pending approval". Although, having said that, it probably does refer to an approval process, even though it is not stated in black-and-white.
Example sentence:

Organisations may miss out on products in process.

In situations where there are many similar products in process, it is ...

neutral Toni Castano : Yes, but "in process" of what? In my view, "en trámite" is just short for "en trámite de registro o aprobación".
