Hi everyone,
This is from a Lebanese text that takes place in the village. Does it mean a kind
of flower or a tattoo?
طوت القرية أسماءنا في سجلاتها القديمة ، ووسمت قلوبنا بمياسم نارية كالتي كانت تستخدمها الداية لشفاء الأمراض المستعصية عند أطفال القرية ونسائها.
Thanks!

In the context you provided, it suggests that the village has a tradition of using these fiery incantations or spells, similar to those used by the local healer (referred to as "الداية") to treat difficult diseases in children and women. It does not refer to a flower or a tattoo in this context, but rather to mystical or magical practices associated with healing.

Branding iron
branding iron is the closest term would refer to the heated metal rod traditionally used in some Arab cultures to cure some diseases and mark animals. The only difference is that branding iron in Western culture is only used to mark the cattle to prove ownership.
