Spanish term

ampliaciones de importación /exportación

Spanish to English Other Business/Commerce (general)
I am translating an import/export license and I can't decide whether to use 'import/export extension' or import/export expansion' for the translation of 'ampliaciones de importación /exportación'

In this context which would be the most appropriate option?

In another part of the document 'Motivo por el cual solicita la ampliación' - I hope this bit of extra context helps.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Please respond

Arabella Please post the full sentences containing the term and preferably the sentence before and after, in each case. We need to see these for ourselves. Thank you.
Paul Ryan Mar 19:
more or wider Without context it's not possible to say whether it is an increase in scope, from say ordinary screws to self-tpaping screws, or higher volumes.
philgoddard Mar 18:
You say 'within this context', but you haven't given the full context. What does it say before and after this?

Proposed translations

39 mins

import/export extensions

This would seem the most logical option, but surely there must be dates, etc. in the body of the text?

It's unlikely that an application for the "expansion" of a territory, etc. would be made without this involving a very complicated process that would include other documentation, communication with other agents, etc.
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : Yes, it could mean they're applying to import/export new products, but we don't have enough context.

Yep, let's see if we get more context.

Spanish term (edited): ampliación de importación /exportación

import / export add-on/s

Literally, widening the scope of such imports and exports.

No more context really needed, except which Spanish-speaking country, if it's a licenc/se- shipping manifest implied, but add-on, as yet another 'best' option, would also work for any data program - albeit post-dating 'my time' in export in London - and used for such purpose.
Example sentence:

WPCargo Import/Export Add-on will help you add your shipments in bulk using a csv template

You can add containers to an *existing manifest* or add to a new manifest after packing it.
