You may notice that some of their waste lands on the Green Disc.

Het gaat over een manier om katten te leren een mensentoilet te gebruiken. Hier is een stuk tekst waar de zin uit genomen is: By now your cat should be doing the following:

• Going into the room where the toilet is to do their business
• Hopping up onto the toilet to use the Litter Kwitter
• Putting their front and at least one of their rear paws on the rim of the Litter Kwitter
• Positioning their behind in the approximate area of the hole in the amber training disc
• Going through the hole into the toilet pan (at least some of the time)

By the end of the Green Stage of the Litter
Kwitter™ training your cat will be able to use the toilet just like everyone else in the house.

During this stage they’ll modify their behaviour in three key ways:

Firstly, they’ll learn to balance entirely on the rim of the Litter Kwitter;

secondly they’ll urinate & defecate through a hole in the green training disc directly into the toilet pan on the majority of occasions;


thirdly they’ll be happy with a small scattering of litter – reducing to none at all in the final days.

Replace the Amber Training Disc with the Green Training Disc.

Scatter only one half of a cup of litter onto the shallow recess of the green disc up to the ridge.

The ridge will help stop litter falling into the toilet pan.

Show your cat the Green Training Disc like you did before.

Show them the hole and place them on the device so that their front and rear paws are on the seat area of the LITTER KWITTER.

Their rear paws may still stray onto the edge of the Green Disc.

They will notice that the hole is larger and will probably spend some time looking into it with their head through the hole.

This is perfectly normal & in keeping with curious cats.

They’ll be intrigued by the water & may even drink from it.

The water in a just-flushed toilet pan is simply tap water so don’t despair.

Although it’s not the nicest place to drink from, the water itself is quite safe for the cat.

If it was dirty he wouldn’t drink it.

Let them experiment at this stage to gain confidence.

Let them gain their balance by investigating the Litter Kwitter and try to catch them when they’re going to make sure they understand what to do.

Don’t be afraid to help them get their paws in the right place.

They’ll learn quickly & it’ll get easier on each further occasion.

You’ll be surprised how quickly they get used to the larger hole.

The previous two training discs and the time taken to get to this point have established the toilet as their place to go so they want to succeed as much as you want them to.

By this stage your cat will be quite at home on the toilet.

The green training disc though is the key point in the training where he’ll be toileting through the hole into the water below.

As discussed before this will satisfy his need to hide the smell of his waste.

You may find that he looks for it afterwards by poking his head into the hole and by scratching around with his paws in the litter at the edge of the green disc.

This is normal.

His burying habit is no longer necessary so he will do this less & less over time.

The key need at this stage is to improve his balance & make him feel comfortable with the hole & water below
