Note from asker:
Good morning, Kalevi. Also in English you can say: "English (native speaker)" or "English (mothertongue)". I do prefer "English (native speaker)"... What would be the best expression in Finnish to describe your language knowledge? 1. "englantia (äidinkieli); 2. "englantia (syntyperäinen puhuja)" or 3. the Anglicism "englantia (natiivipuhuja)"? ... Thank you again. |
Thank you, Kalevi. Without knowing the Finnish language, I preferred "englanti (äidinkieli)" for "English (native speaker)", too. |
Olen teille hyvin kiitollinen, Kalevi! |

syntyperäinen puhuja
"syntyperäinen puhuja" is literally "born speaker", or you could say "äidinkieli" (native language)

Discussion
not sure if this is possible but how about awarding points to both since both answers were helpful?
No biggy either way, happy to help points or no points ;)
BR,
Asta
Thanks for your suggestion. For sure, both suggestions were helpful.
And your reply contained the selected word "äidinkieli":
"kieltä äidinkielenään puhuva", 'one who speaks the language as her mother tongue'.
If you chose my entry by mistake, and you are unable to change the selection, perhaps the KudoZ admin could help.
Best,
Kalevi
I wanted to select Asta Arminen's answer.
