German term

in diesen Reihen

German to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting Canvas Printing

From a text about a company that does personalised art works (mainly giclée prints). I don't understand what is meant by "in diesen Reihen" here. To be honest, the entire first sentence is gobbledygook to me. TIA for helping me make some sense of it.

in such company // in these ranks // here (!)

That's what they mean, although my suggestion as it stands doesn't look to good stylistically.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "The pieces of the jigsaw puzzle have fallen into place now. I was torn between the answers submitted by Brigitte and Francis. In the end, I have opted for "in such company", but I think Brigitte's answers deserves inclusion in the glossary also. Many thanks to you both, and also to the peer graders who made my decision a little easier, not forgetting of course the others who offered an idea. Appreciate everyone's help."

in these rows

I don't know if my translation is correct here but I can explain what is meant. When you go to a museum pictures hang on the walls in rows (one after another) and people go around looking at the pictures. The sentence means (basically) that more or less anyone has sometimes wished to have one of his pictures in one of those rows (I am not sure if row is the right word) so that people look at it, criticise or admire it or at least see it.

Hope this helps.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Corinna Luchtenberg : too literal

lined up in such series / in these series

Who hadn't had wished once to find its own painting (picture) lined up in such (or these) series......
Peer comment(s):

neutral Francis Lee (X) : "its" should be "their"; and "lined up" sounds to literal here

I don't insist on rows - I am just trying to make the asker understand "in diesen Reihen". :-)
