A "cheo" applied to anyone or anything that was considered unstylish or uncool.
It could be a general look, or a specific item of clothing, or a song, or an artist. I would go for "nerdish."

agree Jenni Lukac (X) : I was thinking "hokey," but this may be a lot closer. I think that "kitschy" was already mentioned elsewhere. If not, that would also work.
