Hola
Ester

thanks for your note! to keep the translation short I suggest "(brief) special award ceremony" or "presentation of special award"

another (short) option:
"special presentation in honour of [person's name]"

"presentation" can be understood in two ways: the presentation of an award, and the giving of a presentation (delivery of a speech). So "presentation" should convey the meaning of "acto".

Note from asker:
Well, it has to be in a programme, how could i shorten this? In Spanish they say "acto de reconocimiento a..." it could be reconocimiento or homenaje. Thanks a lot! |

testimonial speech
I honestly think 'tribute' is fine too; it's not just for dead people.

: Homage has not been used in English in this context for about a century now.

Testimonial
I would use "testimonial" on its own. Though I would agree with Deborah's sentence.
Please note that retiring footballers and sports persons recieve a "testimonial" match in the honour [where the gate proceeds are given to them as a "pension"]
