I have been speaking English since the age of 4, as my Dad had served his compulsory military duty as an Reserve Offficer (Lieutenant 2nd grade ) in the Hellenic Army as a translator/interpreter and he had gotten stuck with the English language.

My introduction to the world of translation and interpretation came during my compulsory military duty, too, but in the Hellenic Navy (Seaman 1st class). Weapons and military equipment (sorry, can't give any details), diving equipment, diving manuals and hyperbaric medicine texts were my first attempts plus brief stints at interpretation for my NCOs.

Well, being a Teacher of English by profession brought me opportunities for translation and I got into the medical world. Then, I started translating economics and social issues and, finally, I decided that I should pass on whatever I have learnt from translation to my students.

Since January '07, we have been running a course aiming for the I.O.L. Diploma in Translation (incidentally, we are thinking of starting an e-learning Translation course this January, again aiming for the I.O.L). Diploma in Translation. Since October '07, we started a small English-Greek monthly newspaper, the POLYGLOT, where all the translation of the articles is done by our translation class (mildly edited by me).

I believe that I am characterised by linguistic precision, reliability as far as deadlines are concerned and (an old cliche but true) love for my work.
