Hello all,

Thanks everyone for your feedback here. Caryl, I'm not sure this is technically feasible at this time, but it can be added as a suggestion for evaluation. The quote form has a preview option-- if you preview a quote on a job that has been closed since you began submitting, the system will tell you the job has been closed. Would this option (a bit more manual, I know) serve the same purpose? How often does this actually happen?

Hello all,

Thanks everyone for your feedback here. Caryl, I'm not sure this is technically feasible at this time, but it can be added as a suggestion for evaluation. Would this option (a bit more manual, I know) serve the same purpose? How often does this actually happen?

By the way, I would like to underline what Ralf stated regarding support requests earlier in this thread: support requests do not need to be for urgent issues only, and it is the quickest way to make sure a suggestion or idea for improvement gets to site staff. Nothing wrong with using the forums to get feedback from the community on the idea, of course-- just opening up your options

Best regards,

Jared

Hi there!

Thank you for your patient reply. I have to say I hadn't realised that support tickets were for suggestions - I had them firmly encoded as a tool in the case of problems. We live and learn!

Hi there!

Thank you for your patient reply. I have to say I hadn't realised that support tickets were for suggestions - I had them firmly encoded as a tool in the case of problems. We live and learn!

As regards the 'Job closed' issue, I don't think the preview facility quite covers the matter, in fact. The point is that, as Sheila has also said, if one spends some time putting together a thoughtful quote, only to discover that the job had now been closed and the work, thought and time involved have been for nought, this just is irritating. And discovering it when previewing the quote is just the same as discovering it when submitting the quote. The thought and effort have been still expended, as has the time, and the end result is still zero.

So, if the notion could be added to the suggestions for evaluation list and thus go forward, I, for one, would be most grateful!

Have a good day!

Kind regards,
Caryl
