No, because I always use "Ctrl S" - less effort

This was long time ago. I closed the file and I pushed the button DON'T SAVE.
Then I bought Wordfast... and this doesn't happen anymore

When I started out on an 8-bit micro that was running CP/M - yes, we are going back quite a few years.
I had to use a wildcard to make some space on a - gasp! - 5¼-inch floppy disk, but I used the wrong wildcard and wiped out all of the work I had done on that disk just before a delivery. Aaaaagh!
This was in the days before Norton Utilities, which was the best thing ever (period!) to happen in the world of computing.

BTW, the "Don't Save" button" didn't even exist in WordStar, another blast from the past!

I don't think I've ever heard of such a button, let alone have or press it.
I often press CRTL+S to save my work, and have all kinds of auto-save on in my software, so at worst I lose minutes of work, if something crashes.

I had a 'Monday computer' for the first couple of months when I worked in-house. Back in those days, RAM capacity was limited, but this computer was worse than most, and it crashed at frequent intervals. Mercifully the firm had a capable IT man, who got tired of being called out to our office to sort out the emergencies, and he replaced it.
Being employed does occasionally have its advantages over freelancing!

I've very occasionally lost the job I'm working on (or my most recent addition to it) not because I pressed "don't save" but because my computer froze (or crashed?) for some unknown reason. For that reason, I now press "save" frequently while I'm working and I always save my latest version of a file to an external disk, just in case. This has saved my bacon many times. It's well worth the small amount of extra trouble to make a back-up of some kind.

It happened once at the very beginning - and trust me - it's a lesson you won't forget! Since then I have been using Ctrl+S frequently…
What I seem to do quite often is to put a file in the wrong folder by accident and get quite frustrated thinking that I have lost it. This tends to happen when on the same day I’m dealing with different files from different clients…

is that it saves your work automatically sentence by sentence so if you manage to lose your work you can regenerate it just like that (ish).
Where I did frequently lose quite a bit of work in the old days was when dictating in ViaVoice, which had a limit on how much you could dictate in one go, and because I was looking at a printed source document it could be half an hour before I noticed ViaVoice had gone on strike...

I learned very early on to save the final version of a file before attaching it to an email after I had inexplicable errors in a file as a result of sending it straight from my desktop and then saving it.

When you close a word file for example, if you haven't saved before, a pop up window appears with the following options: don't save, cancel, save

While laptops are SO much better than manual typewriters, even during a power cut... pencil and paper are definitely not redundant yet.
It's not just me - a recent article in our newspaper's science section reports that the younger generations do not learn things as well as we did with pen or pencil and paper to note down important things.
At college, even if I read the handouts given by lecturers and did not read my own notes thoroughly, it was my experience that scribbling an instant summary of the lecture and the important keywords was a valuable aid to learning and remembering.
A pencil is also an important aid to formulating - I definitely still use pencils. Laugh all you like, but I start most of my translations that way, noting the terminology and tricky phrases.
It 'saves' them somehow in my brain!

Me too, I start most of my translations by highlighting with a marker or underlining with a pencil or pen everything that seems tricky at first sight.
