I stop working whenever I feel like it and this can include when I'm hungry.
I think this question could have been phrased better as:

Do you skip meals when you're busy? or something along these lines.

Yet another cackhanded question from Anonymous IMHO

I answered No, but I just realized I tend to take breaks if my wife is at home.

When she isn't (most of the time), I usually prefer having meals while working to avoid getting drowsy.

I sometimes hold a sandwich in one hand and the other is on the keyboard.

My husband sometimes says it is the only time we talk, but then at least we DO talk!

Apart from that, I even eat my Danish sandwiches with a knife and fork... The salads and pickled cabbage etc. are not intended to be finger food, and I eat a large proportion of those to keep the calories down. I can't eat hot porridge at my desk either, though I do often check my mails before breakfast!

I never skip meals altogether, but if I’m really busy or I don’t feel hungry at all I might take it later than usual (I live alone)…

Mainly for lunch Jan 11, 2017

Er, sort of yes and no.
Breakfast is freshly squeezed orange juice sipped while starting up the PC and having a quick look at emails - if there’s nothing desperately urgent recently arrived, I might have a quick look at the online newspapers just to get my motor running (anger-> adrenaline-> work). The juice is followed by porridge, which I tend to eat beside the PC, maybe glancing at the papers or social media again, or reading part of a translation or revision text, or checking out pro

The juice is followed by porridge, which I tend to eat beside the PC, maybe glancing at the papers or social media again, or reading part of a translation or revision text, or checking out proz/kudoz… So I’m not really “stopping”.

Then, at my lunchtime I usually stop for the Spanish midday meal between 2-4.

However, as I recently returned from the UK, my hours are more flexible - Yesterday I went out to do some business and shopping around lunchtime and then had a sort of British fry up when I came home about 4:30 (mushroom, tomato, black pudding, fried egg and potato scone, and a cup of tea instead of my usual glass of red wine).

I don’t always eat much of an evening meal, but by the time I do it’s usually after 10 PM at night, by which time I’ve usually stopped working. For example, last night they were showing an old Star Wars movie at 10:30, so I stopped working about five minutes before that and had a late supper of a flaky pastry cheese and tomato thing.

I boredom eat, so if I work without munching on something, that means it's an especially nice translation project! With routine projects, invoices etc., I actually wait to eat until I'm working, to avoid wasting food on non-boredom.

No, I'm not as wide as I'm tall

I tend to eat lunch at or near my desk, but not close enough to risk damaging my keyboard. I may be doing a translation-related task or else checking my e-mail.

To be honest, I live in front of my desktop computer.

I usually take about an hour's lunch break. I leave my office, have lunch, I may buy a freshly baked loaf at the baker's around the corner, I read the (paper) newspaper. When I get back, I tend to be more focused. On busy days, I may take a shorter break, but I do not have lunch at my desk - it tends to slow me down so much I might as well take a break and come back after 15-20 minutes.

I would rather work for payment Jan 11, 2017

I would rather work for payment. "working for meals" would seem to be what the homeless people have written on their signs at the street corners in the USA !!

Imo, this "poll" seems to be regarded as a daily personal advertising opportunity by a number of people. Apparently no question is too ridiculous.....

Eating at the computer Jan 11, 2017

Am I the only one who has a tendency to eat in front of the computer? Oh don't make me feel guilty...

I do make sure I walk away from the computer from time to time, though, for the sake of my eyes and body.
