المجموعة المحاطة بحد أدنى من وقار، وحد أقصى من إثارة الجماد الوردي للمصور روبرت مايبلثورب، تُبرز الحضور الجليل للروح الجريئة. مايبلثورب هو شخصية راسخة لقصة هيريرا، بعد أن أخذ بعضاً من أكثر صور كارولاينا المحبوبة. إن تصويره للأزهار يعبّر عن الجاذبية الحسية للمرأة وتألقها، ويحتفي بجمال الطبيعة.

Introducing Romani Autumn/Winter 2018
Coined after the language of gypsies, ROMANI is an expression of the free-spirited lifestyle and rebellious nature that go against social norms, born out of Jordanian designer Haya Jarrar’s vision of the contemporary bohemian woman with an unapologetic desire to stand out.
Romani’s debut collection celebrates the archetypal ‘60s style of Jarrar’s favorite muses Anita Pallenberg and Brigitte Bardot, and the era’s rock and roll icons Elvis Presley and Keith Richards to inspire looks that feature unconventional yet very wearable pieces. Oversized fringe leather jackets are decidedly very Presley, denim separates incorporate metalwork, and crepe asymmetric tops are teamed with dramatic bell bottoms.
More than expertly tailored outerwear, Romani boasts the use of meticulously customized textiles such as camel leather using advanced, sustainable techniques and an ethical sourcing process. Jarrar explains, “Romani is deeply committed to working with tanneries that specialize in the production of customized textiles using highly advanced, environment-friendly technologies, which are guaranteed metal-free and sustainable.”
Jarrar built the collection on the “Sylphina” – the first piece she designed is a cropped tuxedo blazer made of foil-printed camel leather affixed with ostrich feather-lined sleeves. Anita Pallenberg is personified in a glossy ensemble – the “Anita” cigarette pant and jacket are entirely made of clear plastic accented with wide notch lapels made of snakeskin graphic printed camel leather.
Taking uncustomary textiles a step further, Jarrar plays up a romantic silver sequin mini dress with a fish leather chest band dyed in grey, and then reiterated in yellow and red as neck cuff accessories and accents to mesh long sleeved tops.
Jarrar shares, “The Romani woman is fearless and wild yet undoubtedly feminine. She can transform a tough, masculine piece - like an oversized leather jacket – into a look that is equal parts feminine, sensual, and confident.”
About Haya Jarrar
25-year old Jordan native Haya Jarrar had the passion to create from an early age - an amusement for putting drawings of female silhouettes and eclectic garment pieces on paper would later inspire her to pursue a fashion career and ultimately launch Romani.
Jarrar explored multiple design fields during her education in London, taking up a degree in Fashion Design at the London College of Fashion and the Condé Nast College of Fashion, as well as Interior Design at the Inchbald School of Design. After her studies, Jarrar relocated to Dubai and further expanded her fashion experience working as a Buyer at one of the region’s major retail groups.
Jarrar shortly ended her fashion buying career to build a one-woman business and launch Romani in 2018. “Romani” is coined after the language of gypsies as well as a nomadic ethnic group who are not bound by a specific homeland. The ready-to-wear brand is an expression of the free-spirited lifestyle and rebellious nature that go against social norms, born out of Jarrar’s vision to create ready-to-wear for the contemporary bohemian woman with an unapologetic desire to stand out.

تحتفي مجموعة روماني الأولى بطراز الستينيات النموذجي للملهمتين المفضلين لدى جرار، أنيتا بالينبرغ وبريجيت باردو، وأيقونتي الروك أند رول لتلك الحقبة إلفيس بريسلي وكيث ريتشاردز، ملهمة أزياء تتميز بقطع غير تقليدية مع كونها قابلة للارتداء. تشبه السترات الجلدية ذات الحجم الكبير كثيراً مظهر بريسلي، وتدمج أزياء الدنيم القطع المعدنية بينما تقرن قمصان القماش الرقيق غير المتناظرة بسراويل مثيرة واسعة من الأسفل.
تفتخر "روماني" التي تتخطى كونها ملابس خارجية مصممة بخبرة، باستخدام منسوجات مخصصة بدقة مثل جلد الإبل، معتمدة تقنيات متطورة ومستدامة وأخلاقية في مصادر موادها. تشرح جرار: "إن روماني ملتزمة بشدة بالعمل مع المدابغ المتخصصة في إنتاج المنسوجات المخصصة والتي تستخدم تقنيات متطورة وصديقة للبيئة ومستدامة وخالية من المعادن بشكل مضمون".
ارتكزت مجموعة جرار على "السيلفينا"، وكانت أول قطعة صممتها عبارة عن سترة رسمية قصيرة مصنوعة من جلد الإبل المدموغ بورق القصدير المذيل بأكمام مبطنة بريش النعام. تم تجسيد أنيتا بالينبرغ في طقم براق مؤلف من سترة وسروال "أنيتا" المصنوعين بالكامل من البلاستيك الشفاف المفخم بتلابيب عريضة مصنوعة من جلد الإبل المدموغ بجلد الثعبان.
في سياق تطويرها للمنسوجات غير التقليدية، تبتكر جرار فستاناً قصيراً من الترتر الفضي الرومانسي مع حزام صدر من جلد السمك المصبوغ باللون الرمادي ومفخم باللونين الأصفر والأحمر في إكسسوارات طوق العنق وابتكارات تندمج في قمصان بأكمام طويلة.
تسهب جرّار: "امرأة روماني مقدامة وجامحة ومثيرة. يمكنها تحويل قطعة رجولية خشنة مثل سترة جلدية كبيرة الحجم، إلى مظهر يتسم بنفس القدر من الأنثوية والحسية والثقة."

كان لدى هيا جرار الأردنية البالغة 25 سنة شغف في الإبداع منذ سن مبكرة، وقد ألهمتها متعتها في رسم صور ظلية نسائية وقطع ملابس انتقائية على الورق لاحقاً لممارسة مهنة الموضة وإطلاق علامة "روماني" في نهاية المطاف.
استكشفت جرار العديد من مجالات التصميم خلال دراستها في لندن ونالت شهادة في تصميم الأزياء من كلية لندن للأزياء وكلية كوندي ناست للأزياء، بالإضافة إلى نيلها شهادة في التصميم الداخلي من كلية إنشبولد للتصميم. انتقلت جرار بعد إنهاء دراستها إلى دبي ووسّعت خبرتها في مجال الأزياء في العمل كوكيلة شراء في إحدى المجموعات التجارية الرئيسية في المنطقة.

"روماني" مبتكرة بلغة الغجر ومستلهمة من مجموعة عرقية من الرحالة الذين لا يرتبطون بوطن معين. العلامة التجارية للملابس الجاهزة هي تعبير عن أسلوب الحياة الحرة المفعمة بالحيوية والطبيعة المتمردة التي تنافي الأعراف الاجتماعية، وهي وليدة رؤية جرار لابتكار ملابس جاهزة للمرأة البوهيمية المعاصرة ذات الرغبة الجريئة في البروز.
