In my dream I was supposed to write my translation with paint and brush on the walls of some kind of huge ballroom. Starting at the ceiling, of course I had to use a tall ladder. Which I had to climb up and down to move the ladder to write the next couple of words. It took forever. The first guests started entering the ballroom, and I wasn't done with my translation yet... so annoying.

Well, it went beyond translating. There was a seemingly easy text that I had to translate from ( ) US-EN to UK-EN (keep in mind, dreams don't necessarily have to be logical).
When I accepted the job I was unaware of 2 things: 1. that as soon as I had translated the entire text... it would simply grow longer, and 2. that I then had to "dictate" my translation to a group of illiterate people. Needless to say that the drea... See more

I sometimes dream of something which is told (observed by me) on a Trados-based structure.
I know, a very difficult point even for psychiatrists.

But I do toss and turn some nights when I get closer to a deadline.
But as a student, I used to work in a boulangerie and would have regular nightmares about discrapencies with my till!

And these are usually nightmares: say it's Monday morning, I'm happily going to my office. It's around 9 am. And then I realise I was to interpret at a court hearing at 8:30...

I had a dream about being late to the conference interpreting, and had several times a nightmare about the cabin which ruined on my head

I will dream about being stuck on a portion of a translation that I've been working on.
When I finish for the day, I usually stop at a place where I have momentum, so I will feel encouraged to pick up where I left off. But in my dream, I'm stuck.

Most often I don't remember my dreams. For those I do remember, they are never about work. Work has taken up too much time of my time awake, why should I let it invade my time asleep?
