Hello
I am in the middle (or rather, at the end) of a project for delivery today, and have already translated the file I need to send. However, on booting up this morning, Trados for some reason asked me to set up for 'first time use'. When I clicked OK, it didn't prompt me to set anything up, just went straight to the Home screen. Now, when I try to open the file I need, I get the above message, along with 'hexidecimal value 0x00 is an invalid character. Line 1, position 1'.
I have tried to open the file in Notepad ++, but it just opens something that say 'Nul nul nul nul nul' all the way across the screen.
If I try to open the Project file, Trados just doesn't seem to do anything at all.
new project with different source file name/format
Oct 6, 2014
Hi did you try creating a new project, slightly tweaking the name/format of the source file (e.g. if it was a word file, try saving the original version to an earlier word version like .doc), then create a new project using this new file and your TM. Since you've already populated your TM, Trados should retranslate the new file in no time.
