Hello

In a .xls file I have to translate only cells with a specific background colour.

Is there any chance to filter such segments in SDL2015 (or to lock non-coloured segments)?

I could set-up a .xlf file with coloured cells only, but once transalted in SDL the import process into original Excel would be very time-consuming...

Thank you

Hide cells in the worksheet Oct 10, 2015

The easiest solution I can think of is to make a copy of the original Excel worksheet, hide all the cells that you don't need to be translated, and then import the resulting Excel file into Studio.

Once done translating, just unhide all rows/columns in the Excel document and you'll have the target file you need.

Sort by colors Oct 10, 2015

If you have Excel 2010 or higher, you can sort the table by colors. If not, Shai's solution is a good one.

Good luck!

Thank you both!
I'd prefer to work in SDL since my Excel is very comples, but I suspect is not possible...
Cheers

Studio has such an option Oct 10, 2015

Giovanni

Studio does have an option to distinguish colours in an Excel sheet.

Go to "File - Options - File Types - Excel 2007-2013". Under "Colours", you can define the colours of the cells that Studio should skip.

Keep in mind that you need to reopen your file after you have changed this setting as it is applied during conversion from source to SDLXLIFF.
