Hi everybody,

This is not strictly a translating-relating problem, but I guess I'm not the only one with an iPhone

Every now and then, my iPhone only displays the subject line of incoming emails, but not the actual text («Diese E-Mail hat keinen Inhalt» and «Diese E-Mail wurde nicht vom Server geladen»). This happens with plain text, word, PDF, or Excel attachments and I can't figure out why because th

Every now and then, my iPhone only displays the subject line of incoming emails, but not the actual text («Diese E-Mail hat keinen Inhalt» and «Diese E-Mail wurde nicht vom Server geladen»). This happens with plain text, word, PDF, or Excel attachments and I can't figure out why because there's no obvious pattern. Can anyone help me out here?
I have an iPhone 4.1, 16 GB.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Thanks for your answers.

@amurati: I already searched the internet and it seems as if I wasn't the only one with this problem. I just thought I'll ask here because there might be somebody who's got the answer.
@Julie: I don't think it's a network problem as it also happenes when the reception is perfect. Also I can't receive the message again (or I wouldn't know how to do it). It's not a huge problem as all messages are left on the server and can be downloaded later on when I'

Possible workaround May 11, 2011

Dear Irene,

As a possibile workaround, if your usual mail service offers POP3 support (if you do not know it you can try it anyway), you could to set up a secondary web mail account and let this account fetch all your mail from your usual server (this can be easily set up on gmail, with the setting "Get your mail from other accounts in Gmail using POP3").

In this way you would have, among others, the double advantage of a free backup for your mail and a secondary (or primary) access to your messages via your iphone web browser. I hope this helps.

I agree with amurati that there should be a way you can get support from Apple on this issue. I was thinking of switching from Blackberry to Iphone, but your issue is quite important for me to decide.

Please keep us informed of the results.

Solution found! Jul 2, 2011

Hi everybody,

I finally found the solution to my problem! It seems that these difficulties are due to the POP account I used. After having switched to an IMAP account everything just works fine ...
Just wanted to let you know as I'm obviously not the only one who's struggling with this problem.

Regards,
Irene
