I was wondering if there is such a thing as sworn/certified interpretation in the US. I know it exists for translation. But does it also exist for interpretation?
Thank you.

Not sure abut US. In Poland there is sworn interpreting whenever sworn translator is needed to assist in a specific event - for example marriage ceremony - only then the act of marriage is valid if accompanied by an official sworn translator who interprets everything said.
In Canada, sometimes an interpreter has to sign a declaration at the end of an assignement confirming that he interpreter everything to the best of his abblity.

Each interpreter has to swear to interpret particular proceedings to the best of their knowledge and skills. To interpret at certain types of legal proceedings you have to be a certified interpreter— for courts and certain other governmental entities.
