今アメリカの翻訳会社からの仕事のオファーをいただいています。アメリカの翻訳会社は初めてなのでいろいろ教えていただきたいのですが、その申し込みのための調査資料の中にexpericence in proofreading/reviewing という欄があります。私は友人などのために個人的にはしたことがありますが、仕事としてproofreading/reviewingをしたことはありません。この経験がないと不利になるのでしょうか。

その質問は単にそういう経験があるかどうか、尋ねているのかもしれません。または採用後にあなたに編集、プルーフリーディングの仕事を頼むかどうかを決めるために尋ねているのかも知れません。どちらともいえませんね。イエスといわないと不採用になるのではないかと心配しておいでのようですが、そのような懸念よりもまず「編集、プルーフリーディングができるかどうか」と自分に問いかけ、正直にお答えになるのが良いと思います。
