The short answer is, you can’t…

You can hide it and resubmit if you have to, or you can add a note, but you won’t be able to edit it once you pressed the submit button.

The fairest thing to do is to hide your answer if you were wrong. This way you give other people with a right answer a fair opportunity to get the points.

You can edit your answer by adding a note below your original answer. This comes in handy when we've misspelled a term or have found new information.

You may add a note to your explanation:

Note: If you add a note, your answer will be repositioned based on the current time

KudoZ is not supposed to be a race, although there may be several people proposing the same answer, and often the first is the one who gets the points.

KudoZ is not supposed to be a race, although there may be several people proposing the same answer, and often the first is the one who gets the points.

However, it is not possible to edit after you have 'gone public'. You will have had a chance to review your answer and go back and edit it as many times as you like before finally submitting it.

The reasoning is that you may independently think of the same answer as other peole, without seeing theirs. This happens, and it suggests the answer is on the right lines, but you must not copy other people's suggestions into your own.

You can add a comment or better explanation in your note, and then you may still get the points as the most helpful - if that is the case.

Even if you do not get the points, helpful comments and 'agrees' (or well-reasoned 'disagrees'!) will make your name visible, and they give other users of the site an impression of how you work. While you are welcome to delete anything you regret, it s probably not a good policy to delete your answers just because you did not get points for them.

It is in fact possible to hide your answer and submit a new one, but again, your contribution will be repositioned, and the asker will be notified.
