A bit boring. I see nothing wrong with "a passion for environmental engineering", though I would be a little skeptical of a passionate environmental engineer, especially as my passionate occupational therapist might object

Kai, I see that you've been cleaning up the text a bit. That's good. Moving some of the CV content onto the profile page and structuring it like a CV doesn't seem terribly productive, however. You aren't looking for a job... and BTW, it's "work experience", not "work experiences".
The way you've incorporated the Share Ministry info now works much better.
You still need to do something about that DE>EN sample, and be very careful with any others you add. You might want to start your relationship with an editor there.
I also meant to point you to the following blog in case you don't know it: The Greener Word. You and the author have a few things in common, and at the very least the content might interest you. ▲ Collapse | | | Kai Döring Filipina Local time: 03:32 Ahli (2007) Bahasa Inggeris hingga Bahasa Jerman + ... I am quite over overwhelmed by the response on this topic.
Thank you all for the many ideas as well as critic comments. | | | Rod Walters Jepun Local time: 04:32 Bahasa Jepun hingga Bahasa Inggeris Why the need for passion anyway? | May 12, 2009 |
Does anybody really choose a translator on the basis of their self-declared passion? | |

Possibly. Or perhaps the other way around. If I know you have a passionate hatred of contracts, I'll spare you those jobs. I myself refrain from discussing my passion for chemical patents in public to avoid sounding perverse
Seriously though, Kai lists a number of different areas in his fields of translation. A tagline like "A passion for environmental engineering", just like "Precise to the last comma" gives the reader useful information about the translator's attitude and way of working and what his preferred focus might be. | | | Maksym Kozub Local time: 22:32 Bahasa Inggeris hingga Bahasa Ukraine + ...
If I were Kai, I would probably hide some projects from the list. "German diploma of 1 page or "Pay slip, DE->EN, 2 pages", without any positive feedback or other info which might be of special interest for a prospective client, do not make a translator stand out in any way. More to it, such entries may prevent the reader/prospective client from seeing really important things, like 10,000 words of court documents or 17,000 words of Fire&Safety Standards. | | | Halaman dalam topik: < [1 2] | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Suggestions for my profile!
