Heavy weight | Jun 20, 2010 |
Yes. A heavy weight for everybody's stomach. Earthquakes, seaquakes and neverending catastrophes. Not adviced (neither for readers nor for translators). By the way: Despite of the editor's opinion, I don't think it finally became a best-seller.
Not a best-seller, but I got royalties | Jun 20, 2010 |
I received royalties for about 5 years from a book I translated for the University of Texas Press.
Perhaps the book I'm translating now will become one... I certainly can't put it down.

Not an eventual best-seller, but Bestselling Authors | Jun 20, 2010 |
I've translated into Portuguese The Art of War for Women by Chin-Ning Chu & An Offer You Can't Refuse by Jill Mansell Both bestselling authors. I'm eager to continue working on this type of projects.
That is awesome. | Jun 20, 2010 |
Are you credited as the translator on the acknowledgments page/inside cover? If so, you may want to take an image of that page and insert it into the Amazon listing by pressing "Share your own images". I often read novels that have been translated into German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and French and I always look at the translator's name and try to find them on ProZ. It seems that most literary translators do not have a profile here.

Like Susana I have also translated one novel by Jill Mansell (Making Your Mind Up), and also Lipstick Jungle by SATC Candace Bushell, into Swedish. Don't think either are exactely best-sellers, but childrens book Molly Moons Incredible Book of Hypnotism definitely was. Nice change from medical translations.
