Is there a means on Proz (or off of it) for outsourcers to "blackball" translators comparable to the way that translators can provide bad reports about outsourcers on the Blue Board?

whereas the outsourcers have no options to hide their blueboard entries.
That is the difference.

That is the difference.
Independently of the visibility of feedback in profiles, it is not possible to post negative feedback on translators in ProZ.com.

There are no current plans for implementing the ability to provide negative feedback on translators.

According to the rules, if there was an issue with the quality of the translation delivered, or with the deadline, the service provider (translator) cannot make a BB entry for the outsourcer. So, if you saw such entries, and then they were hidden, the reason may very well be the non-compliance with this rule.

Certain conditions must be met before Blue Board entries can be made. Entries concerning willingness to work again with given outsourcers are allowed only when (1) commissioned work has been completed in full and delivered on time, and (2) there have not been complaints related to quality shortly after delivery.

I've seen some outsourcers make bad comments on translators in response to a low rating from that particular translator, on the Blue Board. The embarassed translator then has the option of deleting the negative feedback along with their own comment, feedback which may or may not have been justified.
I'm glad outsourcers are not being given any more opportunity than that to make unsubtantiated claims against translators - this is a translators' site. Long live the BB and other fee...
