Hi

why some jobs seem to disappear (almost) as soon as they get posted?

I received a job notification on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 3:52 PM for the following job:
http://www.proz.com/job/74038

At 4:27 PM it was no longer there.

Insufficient contact details Mar 22, 2005

Hi Francesca,
The rules set out in the Job Posting FAQ require full and accurate contact details to be posted with every job:


Please note that the contact details marked as mandatory on the Job Posting Form must be completed in each case - job postings with incomplete details will be removed by ProZ.com staff or moderators.


That's exactly what happened in this case - no proper address was provided, which is why a fellow moderator removed the job, asking the outsourcer to re-post with complete details.

A few points to note:
- As you may be aware, jobs posted by non-Platinum outsourcers are subject to vetting - obviously, in case of insufficient details, we will reject such jobs before letting them go 'live' on the site. The job at hand didn't require vetting, which is why it was removed afterwards.

- The rule is designed to ensure a minimum level of transparency; although outsourcers may decide to keep some contact details hidden, ProZ.com staff and moderators are able to see the details, should the need arise to contact an outsourcer.

- Although Jobs moderators check contact details for consistency and accuracy, a vetted job is no guarantee that these details are, in fact, accurate.
