I think you should definitely report the user to ProZ admins/moderators, citing the specific occasions you have been harassed. And also block the user.

I noticed that you mentioned receiving harassing messages through your ProZ.com profile. ... I wanted to let you know that clicking the "Unsolicited advertising? Spam? click here: http://www.proz.com/?sp=ef&report_spam= " at the bottom of the message creates an automatically-generated support request that allows us to identify and block these harassers.
Additionally, I want to let you know that you can set up your profile messages to only accept messages from logged-in site users. While legitimate offers may occasionally come from non-logged-in visitors, a great majority of these messages are spam: https://www.proz.com/?sp=profile&sp_mode=settings&sp_submode=ef
As long as you don't check "Do not vet any messages sent to me via my profile", the messages sent to you will be scanned by the system for words and phrases commonly associated with online scams and other identifying flags. ProZ.com paying members also have access to the option "I want staff to vet all messages sent to me via my profile".

I had the same experience today and from the same person (so I was told):
Männer, die Angst vor einer Erkältung mit 99,98 % Überlebenschance haben sind komplette WEICHEIER.
Translation: "Men who are afraid of catching a cold with 99.98% chance of survival are complete WUSSIES."
What worried me the most was the forgotten comma. Disgusting. Clearly a SPAM, this time not from Gaza. | | | expressisverbis Portugal Local time: 06:04 Ahli (2015) Bahasa Inggeris hingga Bahasa Portugis + ... It is shameful! So sorry about that, Persio! | Apr 7, 2022 |

In the last few days, I have seen nothing but very unpleasant and nasty things: people hiding behind a screen and insulting members via private messages and anonymously, others being offensive in public, threads that are being deleted/closed day by day, Kudoz awarded within minutes without waiting for the 24 hours and support tickets sent that are not answered or are ignored.
This, among other things... now I ask myself: is this a community of professionals? Because I'm starting to think I don't fit in here. Am I the only one who feels this way?
I do really expect that member gets what he or she deserves.
I think Proz has seen better days... and it's time to do something urgently.

Abuse must be reported to staff or moderators | Apr 8, 2022 |
Hello all,

As Thomas and Atil suggest, messages that are not in line with site rules must be reported to site staff or moderators. If the message is a spam/scams/phishing message received via profile mail, you can automatically report it by using the corresponding links at the bottom of the message.
For the case you mention, Porzia, since you reported the message you quote to site staff already, appropriate action has been taken. In your case, Lovenah, you can block users so that they cannot contact you via profile mail by adding them to a block list: https://www.proz.com/?sp=profile&sp_mode=settings&sp_submode=ef . Also, if messages from this user violate site rules, please submit a support request with a copy of the message(s) so that staff can take action, http://proz.me/abuse
Since I see that some posts have drifted from the posted topic, I will lock the thread now. But, please, feel free to contact me or support staff if you need any further assistance.
Have a nice weekend!
