I am not that well versed in the ProZ abilities but I thought it would be great if we can "bookmark" the forums we visit so we do not have to go through the Community -> forums and then find the one we want. I am not talking about following threads which you can do indeed and you get great notifications but I am asking whether on let's say the left side menu we can find our bookmarked forums so we can click and read or enter new topics.
Thanks for any feedback!

It seems to me you can bookmark this page exactly as you would any other, by using the "Favourites" menu, then click on "Add to Favourites" and so on.
I've just tried it and it worked on my computer. | | | Valentini Mellas Greece Local time: 05:15 Bahasa Inggeris hingga Bahasa Greek + ... TOPIC STARTER I was not referring to the borwser's bookmarks | Nov 23, 2005 |

I was referring to the ProZ menus on the left that say things like Conferences, Forums, Powwows etc. I was wondering if we can add our favorite forums there. Otherwise you would be right | |

In "My ProZ.com"? | Nov 23, 2005 |
Perhaps it could be added to "My ProZ.com" as an item "My [favourite] forums". On the other hand, then it wouldn't appear directly, rather you'd have to pull down the menu. If you didn't set your favourite forums, the default for that item could be the n forums with recent posts. | | | Jörgen Slet Estonia Local time: 05:15 Bahasa Inggeris hingga Bahasa Estonia + ... Bookmarking would be nice | Nov 23, 2005 |
In some other fora I can bookmark threads as my "favourites" and I use this feature a lot. There is no left hand pane, just a "Favourites" menu item that brings up a page listing threads I have saved, and number of new posts in them (if any). Threads with new posts are highlighted with bold or colour. | | | Kevin Pfeiffer (X) Jerman Local time: 04:15 Bahasa Jerman hingga Bahasa Inggeris + ... is this feature really missing? The most obvious solution IMO would be almost exactly the same function as the "View only my languages / View all languages" tabbing on the job listings page.
I still can't believe that something like this is not possible here (there are so many forums that I will never want to look at), but I guess that this reflects the heavy reliance on e-mail notifications here at ProZ.com -- people use the "notify me about all threads / topics" flags on the forums that interest them and then when a message comes in e-mail notifications are generated.
I personally prefer not to receive hundreds of such notifications, but rather browse the forums (but only "my" forums) when I have time.

(So I, too, encourage development of this new feature.)

Yes, under "My ProZ.com" would be very nice -- one web page where only my selected forums would appear. And the selection could be made using the same select-menu flagging that is there on the forums page now (the one that says "Threads/Topics/Off" Just add an option to flag a forum as "Mine" or "Bookmark" or "Fave".

I don't think that this would require much technically (easy to say if one doesn't have to do it) -- if there is room for three options, there should be room for a fourth. It means adding a line to the long "My ProZ.com" menu -- that would probably require some internal campaigning.
