Hi all,

I've been asked to "selectively translate" a daftar nikah-- the client only wants certain info from it, one of which is the date of issue (not stated on the document). My question is, for a Malaysian daftar nikah, would that be the same as the date of registration? Unlike a birth certificate, where the dates of birth, registration & issue are all different, the daftar nikah is issued on the same date as the nikah, or am I wrong here? Someone help clarify pls?

Date of issue of marriage certificate not the same as date of nikah Jun 4, 2010

The date of issue of the marriage certificate is the same as the date of registration of the marriage. However, this is not the same as the date of the nikah ceremony, the solemnisation of the marriage, which would be earlier by days or even months.

Hope this clarifies the matter.
