... and also that it asks for the *household* income, not *our* income, which makes it kind of a meaningless question - if I get 200$ a month for translating but live with a husband who makes 10,000$ a month, how's that gonna tell anyone anything if I answer "< 6000$" in the survey?

Yup, indeed a questionable question.
A bit useful in my case as I realize I have higher costs than the average colleagues. I suspected that since prices in Brazil are simply unvelievable.
