Any takes on the most common used ones? I have had some experience with Subtitle Workshop once, but I wanted to know if there were any other good ones you would recommend.

I personally like working with Aegisub. It is quite intuitive and has a lot of features despite being free.
You can also find several online courses to help you get the most out of it. I did one myself at Traduversia.

I'm using Ooona for some time and I like its layout very much. This is a paid software, weekly subscription is available and has two versions for translation. Translate and Translate Pro. If I need shot changes, I use Pro. They offer free trial.

i LOVE AGORA, BUT IT IS PROBABLY A PRIVATE PLATFORM THAT I USE THROUGH MY CLIENT. TRY IT IF YOU ARE ALLOWED BY THE SYSTEM, IT IS REALLY NICE AND LETS YOU FIND SPELLING MISTAKES, COME BACK OR GO FORWARD QUITE EASILY

I have also used Aegisub and, as a free software, it is a very good one. I can suggest it to you.
At the university I have also used EZTitles, but I think it is not free of charge, if I remember right.

Subtitle Edit Pro, by Bin Liu on the appstore (OSX) is great and intuitive. Have used it a lot, but I'm sad to see that it seem to be lacking updates as of lately. Well, I haven't given up hope yet.
