Obviously, 'study events' is not going to make sense. Perhaps something like 'study units'? I've looked in countless dictionaries (online and off) and not found a reference, but I must also admit I don't have any specialist reference books for this field.

: I think modules could last months or even years, which is too long for "Veranstaltungen"

: I used to write training modules, which made up courses. Each module was around 4 to 24 hours of study, although they could of course be a lot longer

: If you Google it, it usually refers to short-term periods of study lasting hours or days.
