Stringer Pallet

A stringer pallet is called that because it uses "stringers," which support the unit load. The stringers are the boards, typically 2 x 4's or 3 x 4's, sandwiched between the top and bottom deck boards.

Stringer pallet[edit]
Stringer pallets use a frame of three or more parallel pieces of timber (called stringers). The top deckboards are then affixed to the stringers to create the pallet structure. Stringer pallets can have a notch cut into them allowing "four-way" entry. Forklifts can lift a stringer pallet from all four directions, though lifting by the stringers is more secure.

Block pallet[edit]
Block pallets are typically stronger than stringer pallets. Block pallets utilize both parallel and perpendicular stringers to better facilitate efficient handling. A block pallet is also known as a "four-way" pallet, since a pallet-jack may be used from any side to move it.

Partes del palet

Plancha superior. La parte superior del palet se compone de diferentes tablas o, a veces, de una cobertura total del mismo.

Las tablas se encuentran espaciadas y el espacio entre ambas puede ser regular o irregular. Tienen el mismo espesor y el mismo largo, aunque el ancho puede variar según la tabla.

Se denomina plancha de cobertura total o de piso ciego cuando el espacio entre la planchas de entre 1 y 5 mm. Pueden ser del mismo ancho.

Plancha inferior. Es la parte inferior. Se forma gracias a tablas del mismo lago y espesor. También puede estar formada por patines que ayudan a su traslado
