Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for the translation of "la messa a riposo dei lavoratori tramite la "cassa integrazione"" in connection with the Italian CONVID-19 measures. I presume this is just referring to furlough but I have used "furlough" to translate disoccupazione parziale. Any suggestions?

That's the term that came to mind for me too. Thanks! |

: In US, furlough usually is temporary but often is total, not partial. Layoff usually is plural - "layoffs of workers." Alternatively for a group of workers as a collective noun, "dismissal of."

: I think you have to say "temporary layoff", since "layoff" is usually permanent. http://www.dictionary.com/e/furlough-vs-layoff/

: I would say temporary dismissal of workers or layoff, I would point out the "temporary" concept.
