The Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001 is particularly wide-ranging in its effect, including the detention of suspected foreign terrorists indifinitely, wide ranging disclosure powers (the Police and Security Services are now authorised to go through personal information held by public authorities, even though no crime has been committed or suspected).
