"exploring the culinary delights of the region."

I agree no semantic equivalent. So I would rely heavily on the context and maybe just say tourism, or trips, or exploring, exploration. Something like "exploring the culinary delights of the region."

agree Mark Pleas : If there's no need for the translation to be strictly in the form of a noun plus an adjective, then I think this phrase most attractively expresses the concept that alent described.
