Matthew tidak kuatir dengan reaksi para bawahan karena selain mereka tidak berjumlah banyak, Matthew juga menghasilkan uang/keuntungan (bagi organisasi/perusahaan). Itu sebabnya para atasannya tidak terlalu memperdulikan reaksi bawahan.

IMO, kalimat lengkapnya adalah: he got money (waiting) in the door. "uang yang menanti di depan pintu" adalah calon pembeli/nasabah/pelanggan yang pasti (= pasti membeli jika Matthew yang mendatangi mereka, bukan orang lain, karena kadung suka kepada Matthew).

saya menduga get money in the door bisa berarti mendapatkan penghasilan dengan mudah, misalnya tanpa perlu keluar rumah (in the door)
