Grazie della precisazione, Maria Lisa :-). Il senso generale era chiaro, ma non sapendo esattamente quale fosse il verbo utilizzato nell'originale ho preferito ometterlo nel mio suggerimento. Probabilmente concluderei così: "... si fondano su una base più solida rispetto alla sensazione a pelle cui talvolta ci si affida".
