English term or phrase: read in
Bonjour,

Dans le cadre d'un article sur la conception de circuits imprimés, je ne comprends pas le sens du terme "read in".

Voici la phrase dans laquelle celui-ci se trouve:

The document will read in supplier data, but uses the guidelines as described in our technical documents article.

Connaissez-vous cette forme du verbe read?

Merci de vos suggestions!

Explanation:
But I would consider re-phrasing so that you can use 'lecture' instead of the verb.

'to read in' is not unusual in this sort of technical context — it basically means 'to take as input data', but the use of 'read' may suggest it actually "goes and gets" its own data, instead of merely accepting what is fed to it. One might talk about 'reading data FROM a file INTO an input register', for example.
