Why the author did not say "complexes with antioxidants" (complexare a antioxidantilor) I do not know. I did not have sufficient time to research this question.
However, I believe there is a 40% chance that the following alternative is more correct, even if less safe:
the ability to form complexes with antioxidants linked to the stable radical DPPH•.

Based on 1 chemistry article, the antioxidants do not form complexes with the DPPH radical but actually bond to it. Therefore I am really confused. More context would be desirable.
