The link, as you note, was not specifically referring to elevators, but rather, made references to regulators, which - as you know - are employed on many devices. In lieu of posting "the German device" or "apparatus", etc. , I simply opted for "the German one", since I was translating the source text and assumed that the author would refer to the operation of the device within the text.
Many thanks also to mhnubes for your comment; I agree that my post -as generic as it may be - was based on the given context.
BTW: To answer you question, I regret having to mention that my experience is limited to my 30+ years as a designer, project supervisor and former Zoning Administrator at the City of Coral Gables. Tony.

Hi Toni I personally think that the answer given by eski is correct, whilst I don't necessarily think that the link was required or is applicable.
There is no tool that I can think of which specifically is called "el alemán" such as would be the case with something like "llave inglesa" and there is no technique that I can think of called "el alemán" such as would be the case with something like "El nuevo método austríaco".
I would conclude that the company have a tool / útil de montaje which comes from Germany or is a German brand and they know internally what they are referring to.
In this case they probably do mean "the German one" but it would be impossible to find this in another text in this specific context in order to substantiate the answer..

Query Hi eski, Please can you explain your answer - the query is searching for the exact term for a specific tool used in elevator installation, but the answer you gave was a general one, and the link leads to a page selling "regulators, safety valves and metering accesories for the gas industry" that *apparently* have nothing to do with the question in hand... I would be grateful if you could explain the phrase you gave and let me know whether you have specific experience in this field. Thanks!
